Liverpool FC Supporters club was founded in 1953.
It was originally based on Lockerby Road, a couple of miles from Anfield, but as it expanded members agreed to move location to our current site on Lower Breck Road, just a five minute walk from the stadium. We have been based here since 1961.
We have always prided ourselves on maintaining the close connection between the grassroots of Liverpool’s support and those players and staff who truly represent the essence of what the club represents to the people of this city and our broader fanbase.
This tradition began after our formation when the club’s most famous players and greatest ever manager were visitors. Honorary member, Dave Skelly, still proudly tells the story of of Bill Shankly himself walking into the club with his wife Nessie, before introducing none other than Mr and Mrs Matt Busby to stunned members. They quietly sat in the corner of the bar and ordered a pot of tea!
Perhaps the greatest, most frequent visitor was the legendary Billy Liddell. Billy was our first President and throughout his career it was common for him to head to the club after matches to socialise with the supporters. Our Player of the Year award became a sought after honour for the players as they enjoyed the adulation of those who made Anfield the most famous stadium in the world. Mind you, some of the prizes for our greatest servants in the olden days left a lot to be desired. When Alan Hansen won it in the 80s he was awarded a slow cooker!
The club is immensely proud the legends of the current Liverpool team, such as Jamie Carragher, have continued the tradition of these iconic figures of Anfield’s past. In 2011, Jamie followed in the footsteps of Billy Liddell to became the new President of the club.
At its heart, our club is the ideal venue for supporters to come and meet and have a drink before moving heading to Anfield on a matchday. As football modernises and adapts to a changing, more commercial world, many supporters feel increasingly worried about their relationship to their club. In these times, the role of the Liverpool Supporters Club has become as important as ever, keeping the heart and soul of our fanbase intact.
Due to the fantastic work of tireless, dedicated committee members past and present, the Liverpool Supporters Club goes from strength to strength and has never been as profitable as it is today.
We hope this website will be helpful to all our members and inform Liverpool supporters across the world about our important contribution. No matter where you are from, come along to our club and there will be a welcome for you.
The club only exists and thrives because of its members. Long may this continue.
